Ministry of Education and Science of Montenegro has started implementing of ICT (Information Communication Technology) in Montenegrin education system. Development of MEIS (Montengrin Education Information System) is a basic component for implementing ICT. Project was adopted on 13 February 2004 at the meeting of the Council for ICT.

There were 21 municipalities with 168 Primary schools, (Central and Branch), 45 Secondary schools and 10 pupil-student dormitories polled in Montenegro through the ICT Survey organised by The Ministry of Education and Science of Montenegro in April 2002.
