Minister of Education Slavoljub Stijepovic met today with the Minister of Education and Science of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Damir Masic.

Minister of Education Slavoljub Stijepovic presented the previous achievements in the education reform and discussed the next steps planned according to the trends of development of educational policy. He also went over the negotiation process for membership in the EU and mentioned the fact that the Chapter 26 is temporarily closed, which represents an acknowledgment that our country is on the right road towards the integrations in the field of education, and stated that Montenegro has established the institutions, advisory bodies and legislation framework in this field.

Minister Masic estimated that Montenegrin experience could be useful to the development and implementation of the new educational concept in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, taking also into consideration achieved results of the Montenegrin education reform. In this context, he especially emphasized the model of external evaluation of knowledge which has been  successfully implemented since 2011 and as an example of positive practice it will be taken into consideration during its implementation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The interlocutors discussed also about strengthening cooperation in the field of education, with an emphasis on the possibilities that Montenegrin students study in the Federation under the same conditions as Bosnian students.  According to this, it is agreed the preparation and signing of the Program of cooperation, which will precisely define the concrete activities of both countries on improving cooperation in the field of education for the forthcoming period, as well as quotas on the number of students by reciprocity principle.
